Exercising with a mini stair stepper or stair stepper is a very effective way to increase your cardiovascular conditioning and firm up your lower body.
Begin with a three to five-minute warm-up using your stair stepper at a low intensity level. This will help warm up the same muscles you'll be working on.
Once you're warmed up, you can increase the intensity. Proper form is crucial - make sure you are not leaning your arms on the machine. Make sure your upper body is upright and centered over your legs. And keep the back straight.
Avoid staying just on your toes. Keep your heels pressed down on the step regardless if this is a mini stair stepper or not. In doing so, this keeps the work in the butt area and not just in your calves. Another tip is not too push the step all the way down or allow the step to come all the way back up. It is important too keep the distance between your steps nice and short short.
If you can, vary the resistance. - make the stepper easy and fast at times and slower and harder during other workouts. Make sure you stretch your hamstrings, glutes, and calf muscles during your cool-down.
