Just recently we were discussing how crisp sporting events looked on Blu-ray. We started speculating whether the big game, the Super Bowl XLIII, would be released on Blu-ray. No need for speculation: Commemorating this year’s Super Bowl game between the Pittsburgh Steelers and Arizona Cardnials, Super Bowl XLIII Champions will be available on Blu-ray. This makes complete sense: Have you ever wondered how many people have bought HDTV specifically for football? I would think many. Whether this idea will work as a new type collectible product is probably in the studio’s hands. Things they would have to consider is: who wins the game, and how good of a game was it? We’ll have to watch the game this Sunday to find that out.
